Twistloom is an interactive reading platform that delivers psychological thriller stories powered by artificial intelligence. The Service supports multiple languages and allows users to:

• Read and interact with AI-generated branching narratives in English or Indonesian
• Create and share their own stories with AI assistance
• Track reading progress and bookmarks
• Engage with community features
• Access the platform as a guest user without authentication

Multi-Language Support:

• English (en) and Indonesian (id) language support via next-intl
• Server-side rendering in your preferred language
• Language preference stored in cookies for consistent experience

3. User Accounts

Twistloom offers both guest access and authenticated accounts. You agree to:

• Guest Users: Can browse, read stories, and create content without authentication
• Authenticated Users: Can access additional features like data persistence and account management
• Authentication: We use NextAuth v5 (Auth.js) with Google OAuth for social login
• JWT Sessions: Stateless session management using JSON Web Tokens
• Data Migration: Guest data is automatically migrated to your account when you sign up
• Provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Be responsible for all activities under your account

4. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you create on the Service. By posting content, you grant Twistloom a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute your content for the purpose of providing the Service.

You agree not to post content that:

• Violates any applicable laws or regulations
• Infringes on intellectual property rights
• Contains harmful, offensive, or inappropriate material

5. AI-Generated Content

The Service uses artificial intelligence to generate story content. You acknowledge that:

15. Trust & Safety Enforcement

Twistloom is built to help people create, explore, and enjoy AI-powered interactive stories. To keep the platform safe, reliable, and enjoyable for everyone, we operate a Trust & Safety enforcement system.

This policy explains how we handle misuse of the platform, what may happen when our rules are violated, and how enforcement decisions are made.

Our goal is not to punish users. Our Trust & Safety system exists to keep Twistloom safe and welcoming, protect our users and community, prevent abuse of our AI infrastructure, comply with the policies of our AI and payment providers, and ensure the platform remains sustainable for everyone.

Twistloom is a platform for storytelling. We understand that fiction often contains horror, mystery, thrillers, crime, violence, tragedy, morally complex characters, and difficult themes. These elements do not automatically violate our policies. Stories are evaluated based on applicable laws, platform rules, and the context of the content—not simply because they contain dark or mature fictional themes.

Whenever possible, we prefer education and proportional enforcement over permanent account bans.

15.2 Prohibited Activities

You may not use Twistloom to engage in activities that violate applicable laws, abuse the platform, or intentionally circumvent our safeguards. Examples include, but are not limited to:

• repeatedly attempting to generate prohibited or illegal content;
• attempting to bypass or evade AI safety systems;
• exploiting bugs, loopholes, or vulnerabilities;
• abusing refunds, credits, referrals, or promotional systems;
• creating multiple accounts for fraudulent purposes;
• automating platform usage in ways that interfere with normal operation;
• spamming, harassment, or abusive behavior in community features;
• uploading or distributing content that infringes intellectual property rights;
• payment fraud, chargeback abuse, or other financial misconduct;
• attempting to compromise the security of Twistloom or its services.

This list is illustrative rather than exhaustive.

15.3 Detection, Monitoring & Evidence

To protect the platform, Twistloom may monitor activity related to account security, platform integrity, and policy compliance. This may include:

• automated abuse detection;
• rate limiting;
• fraud detection;
• AI-assisted content moderation;
• suspicious activity analysis;
• manual review by authorized administrators.

AI systems may assist in identifying potential policy violations, but significant enforcement decisions are not based solely on automated AI judgments.

When potential violations are detected, Twistloom generally records evidence before taking enforcement action. Evidence may include timestamps, account activity, relevant prompts or content excerpts, moderation results, system logs, fraud indicators, and other information reasonably necessary to investigate the incident. This information helps ensure enforcement decisions are fair, consistent, and reviewable.

15.4 Enforcement Actions

Most violations are handled through progressive enforcement. Depending on the severity, frequency, and surrounding circumstances, enforcement may include one or more of the following:

• a verbal or written reminder;
• an official warning;
• temporary feature restrictions;
• reduced usage limits;
• temporary account suspension;
• removal of specific content;
• permanent account ban.

Not every violation results in suspension or banning. Whenever appropriate, users are given an opportunity to correct their behavior before stronger actions are taken.

Certain activities may result in immediate suspension or permanent account termination without prior warning. Examples include:

• illegal content;
• child sexual abuse material or exploitation;
• payment fraud;
• severe security attacks;
• large-scale automated abuse;
• deliberate attempts to compromise Twistloom or its users;
• other conduct that creates significant legal, security, or operational risks.

Some enforcement actions may temporarily limit specific platform features such as generating AI content, publishing stories, community participation, or account interactions instead of suspending the entire account. Temporary restrictions automatically expire when the enforcement period ends unless additional action is required.

A suspended account may temporarily lose access to some or all platform functionality. During suspension, users may still be permitted to access certain account information, depending on the circumstances and applicable law.

Permanent bans are intended to be a last resort. They are generally reserved for severe or repeated violations that demonstrate continued misuse of the platform or create significant risks for Twistloom or its users.

Many enforcement actions are temporary. Once a temporary restriction or suspension expires, your account will generally regain normal access unless additional violations have occurred or another enforcement action is active.

Repeated violations may result in increasingly serious enforcement actions. When determining appropriate enforcement, Twistloom may consider factors such as previous warnings, prior enforcement history, severity of violations, frequency of incidents, intent, evidence of abuse, and efforts to comply after previous enforcement.

15.5 Appeals & Transparency

If you believe an enforcement action was made in error, you may submit an appeal through the methods provided by Twistloom.

• Appeals are reviewed individually.
• Submitting an appeal does not guarantee that an enforcement action will be reversed.
• Abusive, repetitive, or fraudulent appeals may be declined.

When reasonably possible, Twistloom will explain:

• what action was taken;
• why it was taken;
• whether it is temporary or permanent;
• when it expires, if applicable;
• whether an appeal is available.

For security, fraud prevention, privacy, or legal reasons, we may limit the amount of information disclosed about certain enforcement decisions.

15.6 Platform Integrity

Our enforcement decisions are intended to balance creative freedom, user safety, platform sustainability, legal compliance, fairness, and protection against abuse. No moderation system is perfect. We continuously improve our detection systems and review processes to reduce false positives while protecting the long-term health of the Twistloom community.
