Content Guidelines

1. Welcome & Philosophy

Twistloom is a home for interactive storytelling, with a special focus on psychological thrillers, suspense, mystery, and dark fiction. We believe in creative freedom and giving writers room to explore tension, morally complex characters, tragedy, and intense narrative stakes.

Our guidelines are not designed to sanitize storytelling or stifle creativity. Instead, they provide clear, healthy boundaries so everyone in our community—authors and readers alike—can explore gripping fiction safely and responsibly.

2. Creative Freedom in Fiction

Because Twistloom is built around thrillers and suspense, fictional depictions of conflict and dark themes are welcomed when told in good faith. You are encouraged to write stories featuring:

• Psychological drama, suspense, and detective mysteries
• Fictional crime, investigations, and high-stakes conflict
• Horror, tragedy, emotional grief, and adversity
• Complex, morally grey, or villainous fictional characters
• Romance and interpersonal relationships with narrative depth

A dark theme or flawed character does not make a story a policy violation. Context and creative intent matter.

3. The Red Lines (Strictly Prohibited)

To protect our platform and community, certain types of content are strictly prohibited on Twistloom under any circumstances, including fictional contexts:

Child Exploitation & Abuse (CSAM)

We maintain zero tolerance for any depictions, descriptions, or generation of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), sexual exploitation of minors, or romanticization of predatory behavior toward minors. Violations result in immediate permanent account termination and reporting to relevant authorities.

Promotion of Suicide & Self-Harm

While characters may experience depression, mental health struggles, or psychological distress as part of a story, content must never glorify, encourage, normalize, or provide instructional details for suicide or self-harm.

Hate Speech & Real-World Harassment

Content that promotes hatred, discrimination, violence, or dehumanization against protected groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, age, nationality, sexual orientation, or gender is prohibited. You may not harass, stalk, or dox real living persons.

Explicit Pornography & Non-Consensual Violence

Twistloom is a narrative fiction platform, not an adult entertainment service. Purely graphic pornographic material intended solely for sexual arousal, gratuitous real-world sexual violence, and non-consensual sexual abuse are strictly prohibited.

Real-World Harm & Dangerous Instructions

Content that provides instructions for manufacturing weapons, dangerous substances, cyberattacks, or promotes real-world terrorism and violent extremism is prohibited.

4. Mature Themes & Content Tagging

We trust our creators to tell compelling stories, and we empower our readers with choice. If your story contains mature or intense elements, you are responsible for rating and tagging it appropriately:

• Mark as Mature (16+ / 18+) if your story contains intense psychological horror, strong violence, graphic scenes, or heavy mature themes.
• Use descriptive tags (e.g., #PsychologicalHorror, #Violence, #SensitiveThemes) so readers can make informed choices before opening a chapter.
• Do not use misleading or deceptive tags to bypass reader preferences or circumvent discovery systems.

Properly tagged mature stories allow intense narratives to thrive while ensuring that readers are never caught off-guard.

5. Community Reporting & Enforcement

Keeping Twistloom safe and welcoming is a shared effort between our authors, readers, and moderation team:

• Reader Reporting: If you encounter a story or comment that crosses these boundaries, use the in-app report button.
• Human Oversight: Moderation decisions are reviewed thoughtfully with human oversight, taking creative and fictional context into account.
• Progressive Guidance: For minor or first-time oversights (such as missing a mature tag), we prioritize helpful guidance and reminders rather than punitive bans.
• Serious Violations: Egregious violations (such as CSAM, extreme hate speech, or real-world threats) result in immediate suspension or permanent bans.
